A year ago today...

A year ago today, we were ending the most Beautiful Day of our lives, up to this point...A year ago today, we were dancing the night away, under the stars at the beautiful Spanish Monastery, at our Beautiful Wedding Reception, surrounded by all the people that mean the most to us, who were there to wish us well...
A year ago today, I was able to spend the day with my Mom, Grandparents and closest friends, getting dolled up, and preparing to marry the man of my dreams...
A year ago today, I was picked up in a shiny vintage car, and driven to the Cathedral, where I would wed my one true love...
A year ago today, I put on a beautiful gown, completed the look with a rhinestone trimmed veil, and met my soulmate at the altar...
A year ago today, we kissed, and walked down the aisle, hand in hand, as everyone watched, and smiled...
A year ago today, we danced under the stars, as if we were the only two people in the world...
A year ago today, my life would never be the same again...
A year ago today, I became HIS...

Anniversary/Valentine's Plans are in the works!!!

Mr. R and I have been throwing around ideas to celebrate our Anniversary/Valentines and even his Birthday (which is February 24th). I think we have finally decided what we want to do... A weekend in NYC!!!

As of now, we are planning to leave on February 12th, and return the 15th (Friday to Monday). We will have plenty of time to go sightseeing, have a Romantic Dinner, and absorb NYC in all it's awesomeness... We also want to see the Musical Avenue Q, which recently went off Broadway...

We can't wait!! This is SUPER exciting!!! Of course for our REAL Anniversary, we will stay home, sip champagne and eat the top tier of our Wedding Cake... but 3 weeks later, the celebrating will be in FULL SWING!! I love my Husband :) He's the GREATEST!!!!!

8 months! Time FLIES when you're having fun :)

Honestly, I couldn't believe it myself when I looked at my Ticker (in my SoFla Nestie Siggy)...

but here we are...

8 MONTHS!

We had a bit of an eventful morning, what with ants trying to move into our bedroom, and all... (BUT that's another story)

So I guess this is why I hadn't noticed yet, but I sent Hubby a text from my work e-mail saying, "happy 8 months, btw", to which he responded, "oh shit already?"

I guess we really are having fun :)

I can honestly say that we have really be enjoying our time together. Sure, many things have changed... we are always busy, whether celebrating a birthday, getting together with friends, working, spending time on our house (i.e. household chores, renovations, etc)...

But even when we have nothing else to do, we love spending time together on our couch, with our Dog, watching movies and just being... together :) I guess Justine (Fellow Nestie and Talented Wedding Planner - http://www.fabulousfetesblog.com/) is right... there is something different. It's hard to explain, but you can just feel it.

It's just hard to believe that in 4 months, we will be looking back on an entire year of

WEDDED BLISS!!! :)

2 days away from our 8 month mark...

The hubs and I have begun talking about what we want to do for our 1 Year Anniversary, aside from eating 1 year-old Wedding Cake ;) I mentioned to him that (assuming I do not get into either Sarasota Opera's Young Artist Program or Palm Beach Opera's Young Artist Program) the weekend of our actual anniversary is opening Night for the Opera (Florida Grand Opera, where I currently sing in the Chorus), so there is not much we can do... I suggested postponing the trip, and go closer to his Birthday, which is exactly one month after our Anniversary, and right after Valentine's Day. He is loving the idea :) We are thinking Vegas, or a Cruise... I don't care where we go, honestly... anything will be fun!

Another update :)

Hello Fellow Bloggers and Followers :)

So, the last time I graced this blog with my presence, I discussed my excitement to have been granted an audition with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, and updated everyone on what I was up to...

I am back again to give a bit of an update, and to say HELLO to everyone :)

So, Chicago was GREAT!!!! I had a great time with my friend, Miguel, and feel like I really did ROCK my audition. Honestly, I don't think I've ever had such a perfect audition ever. With that said, it'll still be a miracle if I get into an "A" company like Chicago Lyric with relative no experience with other Young Artist Programs, etc... but still, I went... I gave it my shot, and I feel REALLY good about how I did :) In the end, I feel that that's what matters. If I don't get a call-back for September, I know for a fact that I can't say that I did not make it in because I totally messed up, or anything of the sort... I can truly say that if I don't even get a call-back, it's cause I just wasn't what they were looking for at this present moment. No harm, no foul. :)

So, on another note, I had another Wedding to go to on Friday, the 17th. My Mother's cousin's 2nd Marriage. Everything turned out REALLY nicely :) She had both the Ceremony and the Reception at Saphire Ballrooms in Hialeah, with each event taking place in a different Hall... The Decor was by "Fairytale Designs" and looked AMAZING! I honestly didn't remember that I was in a Hialeah Banquet Hall!!! When the Bride and Groom made their grand entrance... it was nothing less than GRAND!! On a Musical cue, each and every centerpiece shot up with a wonderful display of Pyrotechnics ;) It was great.

And of course... this upcoming friday, the 24th, marks our 6 Months of Marriage :) All I can say is that time has truly FLOWN!!!!!! I can hardly believe it has been half of a year already... before we know it, we will be eating the top of our cake, toasting champagne, and looking back on a WONDERFUL first year :)

With all these Weddings, Auditions and Babies popping up all over (My Nephew, Carlos Marcello Ruiz born June 29th, and Adrian Mora coming in September), it's a really exciting time :)
